THE PHOTOGRAPHER

ABOUT MICHAEL SEEBECK
Michael has had a lifelong devotion to photography. He first took photos of nature with his mother’s camera when 11 years old. When 21 years old he bought a Nikon FE2 camera which he took with him on every bushwalking (hiking) trip. He has walked in to many remote places in the Great Dividing Range and visited Tasmania, Hinchinbrook Island, Fraser Island, and Central Australia, shooting literally thousands of Velvia transparencies, and gaining a deep understanding of the technique and art of landscape and nature photography.

He has since been to Africa a few times, Antarctica twice, South America twice, as well as many places in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea, mainly for underwater photography. He has lived on Christmas Island for over 4 years, mainly to pursue underwater and wildlife photography further.

In the last few years he has concentrated more on landscape photography, using Linhof Technorama 617cameras with Velvia transparency film, in a variety of wonderful landscapes throughout Australia.

He sees his photography as a wonderful medium through which to express his deep appreciation of the beauty of Australia, as well as what remains of the wild places and wildlife of the world. He hopes that his photography will thus engender more respect for wilderness and wildlife. Michael is rapidly gaining in prominence as a respected photographer and his prints have been collected by buyers around the world.

He has won many awards for his photography, most recently in the Epson International Pano Awards 2010.

With his unrivalled talent, passion, dedication and persistence, Michael will become the next big name in photography.
